The Research & Technology Centre of Sai Life Sciences offers cutting edge research services in analytic and medical chemistry to a global market. The design seeks to overcome the sanitized environment that often results in catering to the demands of high-technology functions.

The three-storey design is organized in three layers: a north wing of laboratories, a south wing of support functions, and a central atrium of community landscape The central atrium creates the ambience of a knowledge community that comes together in a warm and supportive environment. It is skylit, containing natural landscape sheltering islands for informal gathering. Circulation at the first floor overlooks the atrium, and at the top floor the scale of the atrium expands in the way the cafeteria opens on to it.

The south wing showcases new technologies at the ground level, has support functions of administration and Process R&D on the first floor, and the cafeteria at the top level. A curved metal roof adds character to the building, encompassing both the atrium and the cafeteria. At the western end of the building, an amphitheatre, with connecting bridge at its upper level, unifies the R&T facility with an existing Sai Life Research & Development complex. The complex is being further extended on the eastern side of the R&T Centre with a 6-acre complex for research services in medical chemistry and biological life sciences. .
